Driver's License Medicals, Employment required health checks, Worker's Compensation and MVA Cases. These Services are not covered by Medicare Australia and are private.
Regular skin checks are important for people of all ages due to the risk of skin cancer in Australia. Our doctors provide thorough skin assessments and can perform minor procedures when needed, such as biopsies, treatment of ingrown toenails, and wedge resections — all carried out with professional care.
Bulk Billed Pathology is available for the Medicare-Rebatable items through the pathology collection center located inside our medical center.
Southlands General Practice is an Australian Government–accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We can also assist with all other travel vaccinations. Please contact our team in advance so we can arrange ordering the required vaccines for your appointment.
Acupuncture at our clinic is offered by Dr Huey Lee as a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for standard medical care. All patients are encouraged to maintain regular follow-up with their primary healthcare provider. Treatment is tailored to each patient’s health needs. What is a mixed billing general practice ? At Southlands General Practice GP consultations are bulk billed for all patients under 16 years and over 65 years of age. Any other age group with or without a healthcare or pension card will incur a GAP fee for consultations. Certain services like Chronic Disease Management Plans, Health Assessments and routine vaccinations and doctor-recommended injections will be bulk billed for all patients as per the doctor’s discretion We also have a treatment room fee for consumables used during procedures like wound care/dressings/Infusions.
What are your consultation fees ? We are mixed billing on weekdays and fully private billing for all patients on weekends for consultations. Acupuncture consultations are fully privately billed for all age groups, and patients are required to pay the consultation fee at the time of service. Services such as procedures & Infusions will be privately billed for all patients. For our latest consultation fees, please check our website (desktop view recommended) or call our reception team for assistance.
Coiming first time as a new patient If you are visiting us for the first time, please complete the New Patient Form and Consent Form when booking online. Online booking is our preferred method. If you cannot book online, please arrive 10 minutes before your consultation to complete the required paperwork. Remember to bring your ID, Medicare card, and any Health Care or Concession Card.
How can I have medical care when the practice is closed? When our practice is closed, you can call Night Doctor on 1300 644 483 for a home visit for non-urgent conditions. In the case of an emergency, please call 000 or attend the Fiona Stanley Hospital Emergency Department, located at 11 Robin Warren Drive, Murdoch WA 6150.
What if I cannot attend my consultation? If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify us at least 2 hours in advance. Late cancellations or failure to attend may result in a cancellation fee of $40 payable before your next consult.
Do you offer bulk-billing services for pathology tests? Yes. Clinipath Pathology, our on-site pathology provider (independent from our practice), offers bulk billing for all Medicare-rebatable tests for patients with a valid Medicare card. This means eligible patients can access necessary tests with no out-of-pocket costs. If any test may incur a fee, Clinipath Pathology will advise you and obtain financial consent before the test is performed. You will always have the choice to proceed with the test or decline it.
What should I do if I have concerns about the costs? If you have any questions or concerns about the costs of consultations, procedures, or dressings, please speak with our reception team. They are happy to provide clarification and assist with any financial enquiries related to your care.
